Context
Undo reverses an operation that the focused application keeps in its undo history. It is not a backup, browser tab recovery, or a promise to reverse every file operation. Changing documents or restarting an app may clear history. In collaborative documents, check which changes the app will actually undo.
Use the binding for your application and platform. Custom keymaps, keyboard layouts and intercepted system keys can change the behavior you observe.
Practical checks
- Keep focus in the document you edited.
- Undo one operation at a time and inspect the result.
- Use a saved version or backup when undo history is unavailable.
