Compare Reviewed Platform Shortcuts
Moving between Windows, macOS and Linux changes more than the modifier printed on a key. The same key combination can mean something different in a terminal, browser or editor. Choose an origin, destination and apps, then compare only individually reviewed commands with a matching semantic action and context.
Evidence before translation
Common desktop editing commands and selected Chrome browser bindings have reviewed cross-platform mappings. Other apps may have legacy Mac variants or incomplete platform information, but these are not automatically treated as verified equivalents. If the selected contexts lack reviewed origin and destination evidence, the tool explicitly reports that no mapping is known.
Switch safely
Start with copying, pasting, finding text, navigating tabs and reopening an accidentally closed browser tab. Read version and customization notes before trying a destructive action. Terminal Control+C interrupts a running process in many shells; desktop copy and terminal copy must not be collapsed into one supposed universal command.
The comparison is a reference, not a keyboard remapper. Customized keymaps, accessibility settings, keyboard layouts and application versions can affect behavior. Create a personal stack for the destination platform and practice a few commands at a time. Commands without documented keys remain visible as coverage gaps rather than guessed translations.
